The Big Mind Process
Big Mind is the name given, by Genpo Roshi, to a special new way to discover, experience and appreciate your life. It’s also a good way of working out the kinks, the stuck places, and the unhealthy patterns that keep us down. We’re here on a very clear mission. To pass along to you the deep and profound truths of Zen Buddhism that were passed down to us. Zen is one of the most ancient and widely respected wisdom traditions. Why? Because for over 2500 years the Buddha’s insights and views have stayed as relevant to the day-to-day lives of regular people as food, sleep, hope and love. And taking a few minutes to meditate each day adds to your life in so many ways.

We all want to more deeply understand and appreciate our lives, our world, our relationships. All it takes is focusing a little energy that way, and finding people to learn from and discuss things with.

Go ahead and ask the big questions, or the small ones… Genpo Roshi and the other Zen teachers here will show you how to find the answers. The five teachers at Kanzeon have a combined experience of over 100 years of Zen training.  Zen is alive and well in Salt Lake City and it’s not expensive or time consuming.

Our typical year round weekly schedule is below. We know you are busy so we offer a lot of classes and meditation times so that you can pick the ones that suit your schedule. Dress is casual. Our beautiful meditation room has both cushions and chairs available to sit on.
